A New Year
Yes, it's a new year at McKillop and things are well underway. Every day we are producing the morning announcements on video. Since Star Trek is our theme this year, we are broadcasting from the "Bridge." Besides Captain G we have seen Ensign Murphy, Mr. Mouth, and Robotto. Student Council elections have just ended and soon the winners will be joining our morning news team.

Hello: I am a Media Coordinator in NC. We have a morning news show with green screen capability but haven't explored it yet. Your videos are awesome! How much do the students do of the creation of the hot dog book report. You have lots of great ideas. Each of our students have blogs and we would love to communicate with you through blogging.
Thanks for your comment. My Hot Dog book reviews are done with a combination of programs. I use a program called Crazy Talk for the basic animation, Photoshop to clean up the pictures and prepare them for editing, and I edit in Vegas Video to add the backgrounds and object movement. Lately I have been using a digital audio recorder for sound and it is awesome. Before that I recorded their voices with a standard video camera and just usd the audio. I hope this helps. We just started with morning announcements this year using the green screen. It has worked out well but it's a time eater. The students have various levels of ability helping out with the Hot dog reviews. I have a couple capable of editing and doing the chroma key work. They write the reviews, draw their portrait and suggest thnigs for their themes. We will get to the point they can share more in production this year.
